My Techniques
My training approach focuses on clarity, structure, and communication. Every dog learns best when they understand expectations and feel confident in their environment. I work to create calm, well-balanced dogs by combining trust, consistency, and clear guidance that’s tailored to each individual dog and owner.
I am experienced in both positive reinforcement and balanced training methods. This allows me to adjust my approach to what works best for each dog — and to what each owner feels comfortable with. I never use tools or techniques that an owner isn’t comfortable with, and regardless of the approach, the same outcome is achieved: a confident, responsive, and well-behaved dog who understands how to make good choices.
My goal is to motivate and build confidence through reward-based training while setting fair, gentle boundaries when needed. This balance helps dogs learn how to focus, self-regulate, and respond reliably in the real world — creating a lasting partnership between dog and owner built on trust, respect, and understanding.
Training Tools I Use
I believe in using the right tools for each individual dog — tools that create clarity, safety, and effective communication between dog and handler. Every dog learns differently, so the equipment I use is always chosen based on the dog’s temperament, training goals, and comfort level.
Common tools I use include:
Leashes & Long Lines – For teaching leash manners, recall, and communication at varying distances.
Training Collars (flat, slip, prong) – Used fairly and gently to give clear feedback and improve focus without causing fear or pain.
E-Collars – Low-level remote communication tools used to reinforce known commands and improve off-leash reliability.
Treats & Food Rewards – To motivate, mark good behavior, and build positive associations during learning.
Place Cots & Crates – To teach impulse control, calmness, and structure in daily life.
Toys & Play – For engagement, reward, and confidence-building through interactive sessions.
These tools are never used to intimidate or punish — they’re used to communicate clearly and fairly. My goal is to help each dog understand what’s expected, succeed with confidence, and build a stronger relationship with their owner through training.
